4 February 2025

Sant’Anselmo is delighted to welcome pilgrims visiting during the Holy Year 2025. We are offering guided tours of our historic church, cloister, and other key areas in seven languages: Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Polish and German.

What’s Included in a Visit to Sant’Anselmo

  • Welcome in the church atrium
  • Church tour (conducted discreetly to maintain a prayerful atmosphere)
  • Cloister visit: pausing at the statue of Abbot Hildebrand to learn about the life of Sant’Anselmo and the Benedictine Confederation
  • Refectory visit (if available)
  • For groups under 25 people: we will conclude in the Abbot Primate’s parlor, where a small refreshment can be arranged in advance.
  • For groups over 25 people: we will conclude in the meeting hall, with the same option for refreshments available.

Joining the Community in Prayer

If your group wishes to attend Midday Prayer or Vespers, your guide will accompany you and remain with your group during the prayer.

Dining Options

We may be able to accommodate smaller groups for lunch or supper. If your group will stay for lunch or supper, your guide will assist in seating arrangements and explain the Benedictine traditions, including prayers before and after meals and maintaining a respectful silence.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sant’Anselmo during this sacred Jubilee year!

Altre Notizie

  • Early in October, two newly-ordained residents celebrated their first Masses at Sant'Anselmo. Fathers Gregorio Carrizal, of Christ in the Desert, and John George, of the Abbey of Saint Gregory the Great, Downside, continued the Catholic tradition of blessing those in attendance. Photos of the Masses can be found on our Flickr account, here.

  • Father Elijah Owens, OSB, was elected by the monastic chapter on Thursday, 7 June 2022, as the eighth abbot of Subiaco Abbey. Abbot Elijah lived at Collegio Sant’Anselmo from 2014-2021 while he was studying at the Monastic Institute in the Faculty of Theology.

  • Fr. Benoit Alloggia OSB, guestmaster and nurse of our Abbey, went on a 2.500 km trip together with his friends. Here are some impressions of their visit to Ukraine. Story and photos here.
