The New Year also brought us a new priest. During the Christmas break, Fr. Gregorio Vega was ordained a priest in his monastery, Abadía de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, on 9 January. When he returned to Sant’Anselmo, he presided over his first Mass here on 12 January. The community of Sant’Anselmo extends our congratulations, support and prayers to Father Gregorio.

  • Fr. Brendan Coffey OSB Assumes Responsibility as Prior

    Shortly after his election in September, Abbot Primate Jeremias Schröder appointed Fr. Brendan Coffey, abbot emeritus of Glenstal Abbey in Murroe, County Limerick, Ireland, as prior of Collegio Sant’Anselmo. Fr. Brendan assumed formal responsibility for his new role on 7 January.

This conversation featured Prof. Dr. Thomas Söding, a German Catholic theologian and senior professor of New Testament exegesis at Ruhr University Bochum.
