On 22 October 2020, H.E. Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa O.F.M., apostolic administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, came to Sant’Anselmo to visit the “Jerusalem School of Theology”, a group of German students who are studying at our university and are staying at our College.
It was a great joy for the young students, because the goal of the program is to get to know the Holy Land, which is impossible to visit at the moment due to the pandemic. The archbishop shared his experience and current information regarding the situation in Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and Cyprus, countries that are part of his patriarchate.
Answering the students’ questions, he spoke about the coexistence of religions in the area, the very complex political situation, and the possible resolution of conflicts.
The meeting was organized by the group’s prefect of studies, Fr. Nikodemus Schnabel OSB, from the Abbey of Dormitio, in Jerusalem. Abbot Primate Gregory Polan greeted the archbishop and thanked him for his kind visit.
